Arcade mechanics, not real physics
Nothing on this site simulates real flight. The games use a constant downward acceleration, an instant upward impulse and hard speed limits, because that combination produces a game that feels responsive. It is not a model of anything.
Where our guides use words like gravity, drag, buoyancy, momentum or terminal velocity, they describe arcade mechanics that carry those names. They are not descriptions of real-world physics, aerodynamics or bird flight, and they should not be used as such.
Our fact-checking policy covers how we handle that distinction throughout the site.
Editorial opinion
A large part of what is published here is design opinion: that difficulty should approach a ceiling, that authored patterns make expert difficulty fair, that a combo should reward consistency rather than speed.
Those are positions we hold and argue for, with reasoning given so you can disagree. They are not industry standards, not consensus, and not claims of authority. Where we describe a game as good or bad, that is a view.
No affiliation
Flappy Arcade is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to any existing commercial flappy-style game, its developer or its publisher.
"Flappy-style" is used here to describe a gameplay format in the same way "platformer" describes one. Every game, character, obstacle, name and image on this site is our own original work.
No guarantees about performance or availability
The games use standard web APIs with no browser-specific code, and this build has been verified in current Chromium-based browsers on desktop and at phone and tablet widths. We budget the games to run smoothly on mid-range hardware. We cannot guarantee performance on every device or browser configuration, and a game that runs poorly on old hardware is a limitation rather than a fault you should work around.
Best scores, favourites and recently played lists are stored in your browser only. They can be lost, we hold no copy, and there is nothing to restore them from.
No health or wellbeing claims
Some of our guides discuss reaction time, warming up and fatigue, because they affect arcade performance in ways players notice.
Nothing on this site is health advice, training advice or a claim about cognitive benefit. We do not claim that playing these games improves reflexes, concentration or any other faculty outside the games themselves. Where we describe how practice affects performance, we are describing performance at these games.
Virtual items
Stars, feathers, coins, orbs and gems in our games are decorative score items inside a single run. They are not currency, cannot be bought or sold, do not persist between runs, and cannot be exchanged for anything of value.
There are no in-app purchases, no loot boxes, no wagering and no mechanic resembling any of those anywhere on this site.
